The unassuming Yates pub in Harrow will play host to the best fighters in London as part of the Razer Colosseum Games on May 12th. Two tournaments will feature at the event; Mortal Kombat 9 as well as the recently released Injustice: Gods Among Us both of which will be on the Xbox 360.
The Colosseum Games are run by Unequalled Media and Ludus Magnus. Ludus Magnus adopts an anti-violence approach by hosting Community Gaming events in London and across the UK. Unequalled Media run and provide coverage for fighting game tournaments across the country.
Tournament matches will go to whoever wins the best of three. The grand finals will be to the best of 5 games. Both tournaments will follow a round-robin system. Players will be put into groups and face off against all the other players in their group. Lose once and you will be moved down to a lower bracket but lose and again and its GAME OVER. There is a cash prize for the tournament winners.
Competitors have until 10pm on Friday 10th May to sign up. There is a £8 entry for both tournaments and you will be required to bring your own controller. Whether that be a fighting stick or pad is your choice. Players can sign up now via the Unequalled Media website. Or you can risk it for a biscuit and sign up on the day for £10 (but be warned this option is for a limited number of people).
Check-in for both tournaments starts at 12 and ends at 12.45. The Injustice tournament starts at 1 o’ clock and the tournament for Mortal Kombat 9 players starts later at 5.
The event is at Yates’s Harrow, 269–271 Station Road, HA1 2TB (nearest tube is Harrow-on-the-Hill) from 12 till 9. Entry is free for spectators and casual gamers.
Velocity gaming will be there to bring you coverage of the event but you can follow the action as it happens on the Unequalled Media Twitch stream from 1.30.
