Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Live at the Bloomsbury Ballroom

At the Bloomsbury Ballroom near Holborn in Central London, Treyarch Studios held an exclusive event showcasing Black Ops 2. The event was free and open so anyone could go along other the three days. Check out the video below for Velocity Gaming’s review of the event.

A brilliant job was done turning the venue into a gamer’s heaven. The games were set-up for XBOX 360 including the Limited Edition: Earforce Kilo headsets. The official headset was very light and comfortable to wear during gameplay. Chat was impressively clear and helped us to get the edge over the competition by communication as a team (most of the time). We never got the opportunity to play in the centre arena but watching the fierce gameplay on the overhead screens was brilliant. The session we attended was one of 7 open to the public. We were pleasantly surprised to find that a lot of the gaming stations were empty. This meant that we had more than enough time to get a feel for the game by playing various game modes on different maps. The game-mode that stood out the most was Hardpoint on Cargo. Cargo is a dynamic map set in a port in Singapore. The dynamic part of the map is a central crane which lifts and moves crates throughout the game. This means that you’re avenues around the map are always changing. A very good mix of long scope points and close quarters action is sure to make this a very popular map online.

After the event we met up with Saad. When asked what he thought of the game Saad said ‘I really like the fast paced feel to most of the game modes, especially in Domination. Black Ops 2 is like a more advanced version of the 1st game but with loads of new load-outs and maps to play. I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of Black Ops 2 and ranking up at home.
